This atmospheric 1994 oil painting by George Gillens III beautifully captures a quiet moment along the Maine coast. In the foreground, a weathered rowboat rests beside a still marsh, its reflection softly mirrored in the water. Beyond it, a rustic red-shingled home and buoy-lined boat barn sit nestled on the shoreline beneath a sky filled with rolling clouds. Bare trees silhouette against the pale light, creating a dreamlike window into New England's coastal rhythm.

The palette—muted earth tones and coastal blues—invites calm, while rich details like the fisherman’s yellow slicker and the hand-painted buoys spark visual storytelling. A classic addition for anyone who appreciates nautical history, Americana landscapes, or cottagecore charm.

Signed and dated in the lower left: George Gillens III, 1994.

Condition:
The painting itself is in great vintage condition. There are a few small scratches and dings to the wooden frame, consistent with age, but they do not detract from the overall presentation. The frame has beautiful brown, blue and grey tones throughout adding to the nautical effect of the piece.

Dimensions:
32.5" wide x 2.5" deep x 26.5" tall (including frame)
