Invite elegance to the table with this set of eight vintage water goblets by Seneca Crystal Glasses, a historic American glassmaker whose fine crystal has graced the homes of presidents, diplomats, and tastemakers alike. Founded in 1891 in Fostoria, Ohio, Seneca quickly gained a reputation for exquisite craftsmanship, later expanding production to Star City, WV, where they became known for their intricate, hand-cut patterns and luminous lead crystal.
These goblets feature an elaborate etched floral motif—delicate yet dramatic—cut by hand into clear lead crystal. Though originally designed as water goblets, their generous bowl and graceful stem make them an ideal choice for red or white wine, spritzes, or elevated everyday use.
Each glass is signed with the etched Seneca maker’s mark on the base, a subtle but distinctive detail that reflects the authenticity and heritage of this celebrated glasshouse.
Likely produced between the 1940s and 1960s, this pattern reflects the company’s commitment to artistry during a golden age of American design. Each piece took hours of skilled labor to complete, part of why Seneca Crystal earned a place in high-end retailers like Neiman Marcus and Tiffany’s and was even commissioned by the U.S. State Department for embassies abroad.
Dimensions:
Each goblet measures approximately 6.75" tall x 3.5" wide. (Second image is for size comparison between the wine glass size and water goblet size)
Condition:
All eight goblets are in excellent vintage condition, with no chips or cracks. The crystal is brilliantly clear and catches the light beautifully. A few light surface scratches are visible under close inspection, consistent with age and use.
Styling Tip:
Use these goblets to add a refined, collected feel to your table—whether you're hosting dinner guests or enjoying a quiet evening in. Their versatility and visual impact make them a beautiful foundation for a storied home.
