An icon of American industrial history, this vintage ceramic glove mold was manufactured by General Porcelain Co. of Trenton, New Jersey, and is dated April 30, 1984. Originally used in glove factories for the production of latex or rubber gloves, these molds were essential tools in mass manufacturing—now transformed into sculptural design objects.
Standing 14 inches tall with a graceful, elongated silhouette and marked “G.P. MEDIUM,” this piece has a clean, matte ivory finish and bears its original maker's stamp. With no chips and only minimal age wear, it’s in excellent vintage condition.
Style it as a standalone sculptural piece, or use it to display jewelry, scarves, or even holiday décor. A whimsical yet grounded addition to eclectic interiors, studio shelves, or curiosities cabinets. A fantastic conversation starter, it brings industrial heritage and quiet artistry to your space.
Dimensions:
14" tall
Base diameter approx. 4.5"
Condition:
Great vintage condition – no chips or cracks. Light age wear consistent with use. Glaze marks and minor discoloration add authentic patina.
Historical Note:
During the mid-20th century, glove production factories used ceramic molds like this one to dip into rubber or latex mixtures, creating household and industrial gloves. Each mold was built to withstand repeated high-temperature firings and chemical exposure. General Porcelain, founded in Trenton—a major ceramics hub—was a key supplier in the U.S.
