Vintage German Fish Plates – Set of 4 by Waechtersbach Ceramics
This charming set of vintage fish-shaped plates was made in Germany by Waechtersbach Ceramics, a respected West German earthenware company founded in 1832. These plates were modeled after the company’s well-known “Fish Service” set from 1906 and were produced only for a limited time in the late 1940s and 1950s — making them a rare and collectible find.
Each plate is hand-painted in milky grays and whites with a glossy finish and beautiful texture along the fish head and rim. Both playful and elegant, they’re perfect for elevating your next seafood dinner or adding a coastal touch to your tabletop collection.
Sold in a set of four, each plate measures approximately 10½" x 9½". The plates are in good vintage condition, with some minor crazing. As is typical with hand-glazed vintage ceramics, each plate shows slight individual variations in wear and finish. We have 15 total plates!
Condition: Good - some crazing, occasional darker stains on some plates, & 1 with a minor chip along the lip

Gently lived-in, with light signs of age—like a faint surface scratch or a small scuff. Beautifully preserved.
Good:
Shows its age in a lovely, honest way. Expect some visible wear such as dings, scratches, or marks, but still fully functional and full of charm.
Fair:
Has significant signs of wear or aging. May need some TLC or repair. Ideal for those who love a project or the perfectly imperfect.
